On 21 June 2025, the 11th International Day of Yoga was celebrated with great enthusiasm and participation at the Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha Rangamanch on Saturday. The event was organised by the National Ayush Mission, Assam, in collaboration with the District Administration, Chirang.As part of the nationwide celebrations, the live streaming of the Mega Yoga Day Celebration led by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi from Andhra Pradesh was arranged at the venue, allowing attendees to virtually connect with the national event.A key highlight of the event was the group yoga session, where participants performed various yoga asanas and breathing exercises, promoting the message of physical and mental well-being.The program also featured the prize distribution ceremony for the winners of the District-level Yoga Asana Competition held on June 16, recognising and encouraging young talents in the discipline of yoga.The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including MLA (Lok Sabha) Shri Joyanta Basumatary, MLA Shri Nirmal Kr. Brahma, MCLA Shri Madhav Chetry, District Commissioner Shri Jatin Bora, ADCs Smt Silpika Kalita and Shri Arup Choudhury, the Chairman of the Kajalgaon Municipal Board, AYUSH Nodal Officer Dr Raju Kumar Das, district officials, students, Self Help Group (SHG) members, and a large number of members from the general public.
